Tehran-Sydney Flights Planned

Iran Air is planning to launch Tehran-Sydney services later in 2018, using Airbus A330-200s. Speaking on the sidelines of the IATA AGM in Sydney on June 4, Iran Air Chairman and Managing Director Farzaneh Sharafbafi said flights would begin in the 2018-19 winter schedule and would stop in Asia, but did not give details of frequency or the stopover city, Air Transport World reported. Iran Air operates two A330s, mostly for European destinations. Sharafbafi said a large Iranian population resides in Australia. The 74th IATA Annual General Meeting and World Air Transport Summit was held on 3-5 June 2018 in Sydney.
