Non-oil exports from southwestern Iranian province of Khuzestan to Iraq increased by 70% during the first nine months of the current Iranian year compared to the same period last year, Abdolhossen Moqtadaei, Khuzestan governor, said on Saturday. “Nearly $900 million worth of different commodities were exported from Khuzestan to Iran over the period,” he was quoted by IRNA as saying. Calling for private sector’s more effective role in bilateral relations with the war-ravaged neighboring country, Moqtadaei said: “The private sector will be supported both in Khuzestan and Iraq.”
