Iran is slated to hold an exclusive industrial and trade fair in Turkmenistan’s capital city of Ashkhabad on February 25, IRNA reported. Iranian industrialists and businessmen are expected to attend the two-day event. “Today’s Turkmenistan is completely different from the past as it is offering the prospects of turning into a trade bridge in the region,” said Iran’s ambassador to Ashkhabad, Mohammad Mousa Hashemi Golpaigani. The value of trade between Iran and Turkmenistan is estimated to be around $5 billion a year, and the Iranian and Turkmen officials have expressed hope that the figure could reach $10 billion in the coming years.
