Close to 397 tons of commodities were loaded and unloaded in the small port of Arvandkenar in Abadan County, Khuzestan Province, in southwestern Iran during the first two months of the current fiscal year (March 21-May 21). The throughput indicates a 29% rise compared with the same period of last year, Reza Safari, the director of Abadan Ports and Maritime Directorate, said. Pottery and livestock were the two main commodities exported from Arvandkenar, mostly to Iraq and Kuwait, he was quoted as saying by the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development’s news outlet on Thursday.
