    Non-Oil Trade With Turkmenistan Declines 25%

    Iran traded $431.15 million worth of non-oil goods with Turkmenistan in the last Iranian year (ended March 20, 2018), registering a decline of  25.57% compared with the year before to make the Central Asian country Iran’s 29th biggest trading partner.

    As per the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration’s data, Iran exported 882,239 tons of commodities worth $418.10 million to Turkmenistan last year, posting a 37.69% and 23.62% decrease in tonnage and value respectively year-on-year.

    The exports mainly included potatoes, metal frame structures, pipes and profiles.

    Turkmenistan exported 32,949 tons of goods worth $13.04 million to Iran during the period, down 58.29% and 59.04% in tonnage and value respectively YOY.

    Iran mainly imported petroleum coke, linter and silk from Turkmenistan last year.
