Khuzestan Agro Exports Earn $880m

Agricultural exports from the southern Khuzestan Province stood at 37 trillion rials ($880 million) in the last Iranian year (ended March 20, 2018), the head of Khuzestan Agricultural Jihad Organization affiliated with the Agriculture Ministry said.
Keykhosro Changalvaee was also quoted as saying by Mehr News Agency that Khuzestan has 2.2 million hectares of farmlands. 
“More than $4.5 billion worth of agro products are cultivated in Khuzestan every year. The province produces nearly $1.43 billion worth of processed agro products annually,” he said. The official noted that 1.4 trillion rials ($33.3 million) have been allocated for creating jobs in Khuzestan’s agriculture sector this year.
