The average goods and services Consumer Price Index in Iran during the 12-month period ending May 21, which marks the end of the Iranian month of Ordibehesht, increased by 8% compared with last year’s corresponding period, the Statistical Center of Iran reported.
SCI had put the inflation rate for the preceding month (Farvardin), which ended on April 21, at 8.1%.
The overall CPI (using the Iranian year to March 2017 as the base year) stood at 114.1 in Ordibehesht, indicating a 1.1% rise compared with the previous month.
The index registered a year-on-year increase of 8.3% compared with the similar month of last year.
