The CEO of the Government Trading Cooperation of Iran (G.T.C), which is tasked by the government to be in charge of supervising the quality of bread in bakeries, says the organization would fine those who bake low quality bread by diminishing or even cutting their subsidized flour share. The government also plant to increase the share of bakeries that meet quality standards, ISNA quoted Ali Ghanbari as saying. The price of bread, the staple food of most Iranian households, increased 30% about a month ago. However, in some cases, bread has been sold at prices higher than the level determined by the government.
