A delegation from Russia’s Volgograd Oblast arrived in Sari, the provincial capital of Mazandaran, on Monday for a three-day visit aimed at exploring ways of boosting bilateral trade. The Russian mission was scheduled to pay visits to provincial production units, Sari Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources University and businesspeople at Mazandaran Chamber of Commerce, IRNA reported.
The visit comes nine months after businesspeople and producers from Mazandaran went to the Russian region to hold an exhibition for showcasing products and services from the northern Iranian province. Volgograd Oblast is located in southwest Russia, bordering the Caspian region of Astrakhan. Its main economic sectors are agriculture, food production, heavy industries, gas and petroleum refining.
The first House of Commerce opened in Astrakhan Oblast in the south of Russia last year. The new institution is home to 14 chambers of commerce and industries from 14 Iranian provinces.
