5 MoUs to Boost Relations With Sri Lanka

Iran and Sri Lanka signed five memoranda of understanding in the presence of the two countries’ presidents in Tehran on Sunday to increase cooperation in different fields.

The first MoU in the field of fighting against drug trafficking was signed by Iran’s Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli and Foreign Minister Tilak Marapana, Sri Lanka’s official news portal reported.

The second agreement was on health, medical science, medicine and medical equipment, which was signed by the two countries’ health ministers.  The third, signed between the Institute for Standards and Industrial Research of Iran and the Sri Lankan Standard Institute, was on cooperation on standardization, training and laboratory services between the two countries.

The fourth document pertaining to the film industry was signed between the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Iran and the National Film Company of Sri Lanka.  Iran and Sri Lanka also signed an MoU on cooperation in cultural, scientific and educational fields to increase the exchange of knowledge and students between the two sides. President Maithripala Sirisena and his  ccompanying delegation arrived in Tehran early Sunday for a two-day state visit.
