Khosravi Border Crossing in Kermanshah Province will be open to pilgrims traveling to the Iraqi city of Karbala in Arbaeen that falls on Oct. 30 this year.
“The measure will be taken to spread the passenger load over the period between Iran’s border crossings with Iraq and ease the travel of pilgrims,” the head of the Islamic Republic of Iran Road Maintenance and Transportation Organization said.
Abdolhashem Hassanniya added that earlier three crossings bordering Iraq, namely Mehran in Ilam Province and Shalamcheh and Chazzabeh in Khuzestan Province, were used for this purpose.
