The value of retail exports of Iranian saffron reached $94 million in the first nine months of the current Iranian year (starting March 21, 2014), recording an increase of nearly 12 percent compared to the similar period last year, ISNA reported. More than 100 tons of saffron were exported over the period. The export value of saffron accounts for nearly 0.37% of the total export. Last year, Iran’s revenues from saffron export reached $84.2 million, which accounted for 0.36% of total exports.
