Production units in Alborz Province’s industrial estates and zones exported a total of $100 million worth of goods during the last fiscal year (ended March 20, 2018), according to the managing director of Alborz Industrial Estates Company.
Speaking to IRNA, Jahangir Shahmoradi added that the exported commodities mainly included plastic materials, apparel, food products, construction materials, pharmaceuticals, chemical products and petrochemical products.
Iraq, Afghanistan, Oman and several Commonwealth of Independent States were the main export destinations.
According to Shahmoradi, over 90% of industries in Alborz Province are small- and medium-sized enterprises.
Situated 35 km west of Tehran at the foothills of the Alborz mountains, Alborz is Iran’s smallest province in terms of area and 11th in terms of population.
