    Iranian Roads Have 700 Point-to-Point Cameras

    Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development Mehrdad Taqizadeh said 700 out of 1,000 speed cameras on Iranian roads are point-to-point ones that automatically track speeders based on the amount of time it takes them to travel between two checkpoints, IRNA reported. Iran has one of the highest rates of road accidents in the world. According to the latest figures released by the Iranian Coroner’s Office, a total of 13,874 people were killed in the 10 months to January 20, 2018, registering a 0.4% rise compared with the same period of the year before.
