A total of 695,454 tons of oil and non-oil products were loaded and unloaded in the ports of Qeshm Island located near the Strait of Hormuz during the Iranian month of Farvardin (March 21-April 20), registering a 2.2% rise compared with the similar period of last year, caretaker of Qeshm division of Iran Ports and Maritime Organization of Iran said. “Non-oil products accounted for close to 682,254 tons and oil products for over 13,200 tons of the total throughput, registering a 1.8% and 32% growth respectively,” Ali Ashtari was also quoted as saying by the news portal of the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development.  Noting that 62 tons of exports and 550 tons of imports were handled in the month of Farvardin, Ashtari said nearly 2,786 tons of non-oil products were transshipped through Qeshm ports as the cabotage of non-oil goods amounted to 678,656 tons, registering a rise of 2% over last year’s similar period.
