About $2 billion worth of non-oil goods were exported from East Azarbaijan Province during the 11 months to Feb. 19, registering an 8.6% increase compared with last year’s corresponding period, according to Ali Jahangiri, an official with the province’s governor general.
Industrial products made up the majority of exports from the province with 45%, followed by agro products with 12% and chemical and petrochemical products with 11%, the Persian economic daily Donya-e-Eqtesad reported.
Products from East Azarbaijan are exported to 101 countries, with Iraq, Turkey, Afghanistan, Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Russia, Pakistan, Italy and Bulgaria as the main destinations.
