The Iran National Tax Administration earned about 580 trillion rials ($11.6 billion) from value added tax in the last fiscal year (ended March 20, 2018), registering a 20% rise compared with the year before.
INTA’s deputy head, Mohammad Masihi, was also quoted as saying by Fars News Agency that the revenue met 96% of INTA’s goals for the period under review. Noting that about 170 trillion rials ($3.4 billion) of VAT revenues will be paid to the municipalities, the official said 12.7 trillion rials ($254 million) of VAT on exports were paid back to exporters in tax rebate last year.
