Iran’s public transportation fleet is ready to offer services during the Iranian New Year holidays (starting March 21 for a period of 13 days) with one million seats, said an official with the Islamic Republic of Iran Road Maintenance and Transportation Organization, affiliated to the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development. “The road transport fleet includes 14,500 buses, 20,000 minibuses and 27,000 intercity passenger cars. Up to 2,100 patrols will maintain road safety during the upcoming holidays,” Hamid-Reza Shahraki was also quoted as saying by IRNA.
