Iran exported €357,420 worth of commodities to Latvia in 2017, indicating a 160.34% upsurge compared with the previous year. Iran’s imports from the European country amounted to more than €3.27 million last year to register a 12.86% decrease year-on-year, according to the latest Eurostat figures shared with Financial Tribune. As such, Iran-Latvia trade stood at nearly €3.63 million in 2017, which shows a 6.75% decline compared with the year before. This makes Latvia the second country after Malta with which Iran had the least amount of transactions from among the 28 European Union member states over last year. The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development raised Latvia’s GDP growth estimate for 2017 to 4.3% in September. Latvia’s GDP growth forecast for 2018 has been upped to 3.7% from 3.5%. The harmonized consumer price growth estimate has been cut to 2.7% from 2.8% for last year and left unchanged at 2.3% for 2018.
