39% of SSO Pensioners Retire Early

Thirty-nine percent of the members of Social Security Organization’s pension scheme retire before their full retirement age. According to a report by SSO, the full benefit age in Iran averages out at 65 while the disabled enjoy retirement benefits at the age of 55. The average monthly pension payments stand at 12.71 million rials ($282), the average payment for the disabled is 7.56 million rials ($168) and the survivor benefits stand at 8.98 million rials ($199). Thirty-three percent of pensioners, 80% of the disabled and 60% of beneficiaries of a deceased SSO member receive the minimum wage.
