The domestic production of home appliances increased by 30 percent in the first nine months of the current year (March 21-December 21, 2014), Mohammadreza Nematzadeh, the minister of industry mine, and trade said on the sidelines of the 14th international exhibition of home appliances on Monday. The minister underlined that despite the presence of imported goods in the domestic market; the manufactured products can qualitatively and quantitatively compete with foreign rivals. He hoped that the export level of these products will increase in the upcoming year. In a bid to protect domestically produced products, Nematzadeh asked consumers to purchase Iranian home appliances.   Nematzadeh and his accompanying delegation left Tehran on Monday to attend the 15th economic Iran-Oman Joint Commission as well as an exclusive Iranian exhibition in Oman. During his three-day stay in Muscat, the minister will visit Omani top officials including the prime minister, the minister of trade to investigate expansion of mutual relations.  The exclusive Iranian exhibition in Muscat is aimed at implementing trade policies in an effort to promote non-oil exports.  Iran and Oman are seeking to develop trade and economic relations within the framework of joint economic commissions.
