Afghan police of counter-narcotic drug department succeeded in preventing the smuggling of 27 kg of the narcotic drug heroin to Iran in Herat Province.
A police official told the official state news agency of the Afghan government Bakhtar News that the drugs were skillfully placed inside the tire of a truck that had been discovered and seized by the police of counter-narcotic drug in Herat-Islam-e-Qala Highway.
The haul was en route to Iran before it was confiscated.
The truck driver was arrested and taken into custody.
