About $832 million worth of goods were exported from Iran’s western Kurdestan Province since the beginning of the current fiscal year on March 21, 2017, registering a 9% and 23% growth respectively compared with the corresponding period of last year, the director general of Kurdestan Customs Offices said. Bakhtiar Rahmani added that $58 million worth of goods were imported into the province during the same period, which registered a 113% increase in value, IRNA reported.
According to Rahmani, Kurdestan Customs Offices earned 270 billion rials ($5.5 million) over the period under review.
The main occupations of Kurdestan’s residents are agriculture and livestock farming. Wheat, barley, grains and fruits are its top agricultural products.
Chemical, metal, textile, leather and food industries are the main industrial activities of this Iranian province.
