Some 1,500 economists have been invited to attend the First Iranian Conference on the Economy to be held in Tehran January 12-13 to study major economic problems and investigate avenues to reach sustainable growth and create jobs. As IRNA reported on Saturday, the conference features 9 specialized sessions in the presence of top economic officials and policy makers including the ministers of economic affairs and finance, petroleum, industry, mine and trade, cooperatives, labor, and social welfare, and energy, Gholam Hossein Firoozfar, the executive secretary of the conference said. The attendees will be negotiating macroeconomic issues with the top officials, he added. The Institute of Management And Planning Education and Research is in charge of organizing the event.
