86% Hike in Iran-Sweden Trade
86% Hike in Iran-Sweden Trade

Trade between Iran and Sweden stood at €409 million during the 11 months to Nov. 30, 2017, registering an 86% hike compared with the similar period of last year, based on the latest Eurostat figures shared with Financial Tribune. Iran’s exports to Sweden during the period amounted to €11.33 million, showing a meager increase of 2% year-on-year. Imports from the European country into Iran reached over €397.7 million, indicating a 91% increase year-on-year. The Swedish-Iranian Chamber of Trade and Commerce organized the First Nordic Iranian Business Summit in Stockholm in November 2017. Hosting companies and delegations from Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark and other European countries as well as Iran, the event aims to introduce investment opportunities in Iran’s infrastructure, ICT, mining & steel, health & pharmaceuticals, banking & finance, environment and energy. The joint chamber is a Swedish NGO that promotes trade between Scandinavian countries and emerging markets in Asia.
