Agricultural land use change have dramatically declined in the current year, IRNA reported on Friday. Some 6,500 hectares of agricultural land is recorded to have changed use over the year, showing a 30 percent decline compared to last year, the head of land affairs organization announced in a meeting in Qeshm Island on Thursday. The official noted that 4,500 hectares (75 percent) was changed illegally. “In a bid to protect and develop farming land, the administration has increased the allocated budget to land affairs organization by 75 percent in its proposed budget bill for the upcoming year.”
