10 New Cities in the Making

The government is planning to build 10 new cities to balance population increase in the northern parts of the country and decline in the southern parts, deputy minister of roads and urban development announced. “The new cities will be built based on regional and local capacities as well as their economic resources, particularly their tourism potentials,” the ministry’s news portal also quoted Mohsen Nariman as saying. The new cities include Kushk and Mokran in Hormozgan, Tabnak in Fars, Pars in Bushehr, Samangan in Kerman, Zagros in Kurdestan, Ferdos in Semnan, Tosan in Mazandaran, Tis in Sistan-Baluchestan and Siraf in Bushehr provinces.
