Belarus’s state-owned ZAO Meat-Dairy Company and the Iranian company IMEX have signed a cooperation agreement to promote Belarusian agricultural products in the Iranian market, BelTA learned from the head of the main department for foreign economic affairs at the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.

“The negotiations resulted in a cooperation agreement between ZAO Meat-Dairy Company and the Iranian company IMEX. The agreement suggests cooperation in promoting Belarusian agricultural products in the Iranian market, primarily beef and butter. The next stage is milk powder and baby milk formula,” Aleksei Bogdanov added.

“In the future, we would like to export cheese and other dairy products to Iran. The agreement also envisages cooperation in the field of certification of Belarusian enterprises for the supply of products to the Iranian market. We are seeking to raise our agricultural export to Iran to about $100 million per year.” During the negotiations, the parties agreed to arrange a business forum in Iran at the end of February with the participation of officials of the Agriculture and Food Ministry of Belarus and representatives of the meat and dairy industries of the two countries.
