Rise in Imam Khomeini Port Throughput

Close to 33.61 million tons of goods were loaded and unloaded in Imam Khomeini Port located in the southern Khuzestan Province during the nine months to Dec.21, the director general of the Ports and Maritime Organization of the province said.

“More than 19.29 million tons of non-oil goods and nearly 14.32 million tons of oil products were loaded and unloaded in the port, registering a 5% and 3% growth respectively compared with the similar period of last year,” Adel Deris was also quoted by as saying by the news portal of the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development.

Container loading and unloading stood at 93,000 TEUs during the nine-month period.

Imam Khomeini Port is the second largest port in Iran after Shahid Rajaee.
