Around 56,180 tons of kiwis worth $30 million were exported from Mazandaran Province during the nine months to Dec. 22, the director general of Mazandaran Province’s Customs Bureau said.
Abolqasem Yousefinejad added that kiwi exports have a 10% share in the province’s total non-oil exports, IRNA reported.
Mazandaran’s non-oil exports stood at 513,000 tons worth $303 million during the nine-month period, registering a 21% decline in volume and a 6% rise in value compared with last year’s corresponding period.
Iraq, Afghanistan, Russia, Persian Gulf countries, CIS countries and Turkey were the main export destinations.
A total of 2.16 million tons of non-oil commodities worth $676 million were imported into Mazandaran during the same period, indicating a 42% rise in volume and value year-on-year. With $232 million, Russia had the biggest share in the northern Iranian province’s imports.
