About 66,650 tons of fruit and vegetables worth 155.8 billion rials ($3.72 million) were exported from Alborz Province during the six months to Sept. 22, the head of Alborz Agricultural Jihad Organization said.
“The main exported products were lettuce, cauliflower, bell pepper, celery, green beans, cucumbers, tomatoes, melons, grapes and persimmons, which largely headed to the UAE, Oman and Qatar,” Majid Mousavi was also quoted as saying by IRNA.
Situated 35 km west of Tehran at the foothills of the Alborz mountains, Alborz is Iran’s smallest province in terms of area and 11th in terms of population.
