For the first time, South Khorasan Province has exported livestock to Oman, Saeed Qasemi, head of the provincial Veterinary Quarantine and Biosecurity Office, told Mehr news agency on Monday. The office has issued a permit for an Omani representative who wanted to import 3,000 head of livestock through the southern provinces of Khuzestan and Hormozgan, Qasemi said. Before being exported, animals are kept in quarantine for 15 days. Officials hope that effective veterinary controls will help the country increase livestock exports in the coming years.
