The special economic zone in the north of Bushehr province is ready to attract investment, Mehdi Safavi, managing director of the provincial Industrial Parks Company, said on Monday.

“The zone can play an effective role in the development of the regional economy,” he said.

With an area of 3,800 hectares, the zone is located in Lilteen village between the ports of Daylam and Genaveh, with bright prospects thanks to its closeness to the provinces of Fars, Kohkiluyeh and Boyer Ahmad, Khuzestan and open seas.

The zone is also in the vicinity of several oil fields and installations such as Bahregan, which is currently used as an export terminal. Companies interested in investing in the zone can benefit from a 15-year tax exemption, the official noted, adding that the zone can also be a key trade hub in the region for all sorts of goods including oil and gas products.
