Iran Medicine Use Matches China’s

The rate of prescription drugs used in Iran is the same as China’s, a member of Majlis Health and Treatment Commission said.

Referring to the heavy debts of the government to the pharmaceutical firms in Iran, the lawmaker said, “There are 60 major pharmaceutical firms in Iran and the government owes huge debts to most of these companies as well as insurances.

For example, more than 10 million Iranians are covered by the Salamat [Health] Insurance scheme following the implementation of the 2014 Health Reforms Plan,” the Persian daily Sepid also quoted Yaqoub Shivyari as saying.
