Modern irrigation systems have been installed over nearly 85,900 hectares of farmland in Iran during the seven months to Oct. 22, registering a 170% hike compared with the corresponding period of last year, an official with the Ministry of Agriculture said.
Abbas Zare’ also put the total area of farmland in which modern irrigation systems have been set up at nearly 1.69 million hectares, Mehr News Agency reported.
The official added that these irrigation systems are being currently installed over more than 151,000 hectares of farmland.
