A total of 5.4 million tons of cargo has transited through Iran during the first seven months of the current fiscal year (March 21-Oct. 22), an official with the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development said. Reza Nafisi added that of this volume, 1.6 million tons were oil products and 3.8 million tons were non-oil goods, Mehr News Agency reported. Shahid Rajaee Port in the southern city of Bandar Abbas was the most active transit terminal, accounting for 36.1% of the overall volume, followed by Parvizkhan (19%) and Bazargan (10.5%) border terminals. Shahid Rajaee is Iran’s biggest container port accounting for more than half of Iran’s total port throughput.
