Rabiei's Impeachment in the Making

An impeachment motion against Minister of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare Ali Rabiei will be submitted to the parliament this week, a legislator said. "Fifty parliamentarians have signed a petition to bring impeachment charges against the minister for the dire state of the country’s pension funds, among other reasons," Hossein Maqsoudi added. The lawmakers’ effort to impeach Rabiei has coincided with the resignation last week of Mahmoud Eslamian, who led Civil Servants Pension Fund since October 2014. CSPF is an independent legal entity managed by the ministry, Bourse Press reported.
