Iran Agro Exports Top $2 Billion in Fiscal H1

More than 2.52 million tons of agricultural products worth around $2.07 billion were exported from Iran during the first half of the current Iranian year (March 21-Sept. 22), a deputy agriculture minister said.

Abdolmehdi Bakhshandeh added that livestock and poultry products accounted for 25% of the total exports’ value, Mehr News Agency reported.

“In-shell pistachio, watermelons, ice-cream, tomato paste and different types of cheese were the main exported products in terms of value,” he said.

The five products that topped the list of exports in terms of weight over the period were watermelons, fresh and frozen tomatoes, fresh and frozen potatoes, wheat flour and yogurt.
