Hazelnut Production at 23,000 Tons p.a.

Iran produces over 23,000 tons of hazelnuts annually from 24,000 hectares throughout the country, an official with the Ministry of Agriculture said. Shokrollah Hajivand also told ILNA that Iran is one of the top seven producers of hazelnuts in the world. “Iranian hazelnut is of top quality, but we lag behind in terms of quantity compared to other countries,” he said.
