Commercial Envoys to 5 Nations

Iran is to send commercial envoys to Italy, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Afghanistan and South Korea to scope out trade opportunities with these countries, Reza Abbasgholi, an official with Iran’s Trade Development Organization (TPO), said on Thursday.
“The envoys have been instructed about Iran’s capabilities and trade strategies as well as the way they need to approach and attract foreign investors,” he was quoted by IRNA as saying.
Commercial envoys play a crucial role in promoting of trade with other countries, Abbasgholi said.
“They are tasked with sketching out strategies for trade of the target countries as well as informing the trade partners with the untapped economic opportunities in Iran.”
Iran currently has 20 such envoys based in different countries. The number, however, is about to increase to 30 in the future.
