The increase in Consumer Price Index ranged from 0.4% to 11.9% for different goods and services in the 12 months ending Oct. 22, compared with last year’s corresponding period. According to the latest urban inflation report by the Central Bank of Iran, the CPI increased most (11.9%) for the “Restaurants and Hotels” group, followed by “Food and Beverages” (11.4%). The CPI for “Entertainment and Cultural Activities” rose by 10.9%, “Goods and other Services” by 9.6%; “Furniture and Home Appliances” by 8.3%; “Education” by 8.2%; “Health and Treatment” by 7.9%; “Housing, Water, Electricity and Other Fuels” by 7.4%; “Transportation” by 5.9%; “Clothing and Shoes” by 5.5% and “Tobacco” by 0.4%. The average goods and services CPI for urban areas in the 12 months increased by 9.8% compared with last year’s corresponding period.
