More than 1.15 million tons of peach and nectarine were produced in Iran in the current crop year, indicating a 6.8% rise year-on-year.
“The provinces of Alborz, Mazandaran, Fars, Golestan, Hamedan, West Azarbaijan, Markazi, Qazvin, Chaharmahal-Bakhtiari and Kermanshah are the top 10 producers of peach and nectarine in Iran,” Shokrollah Hajivand, an official with the Ministry of Agriculture, said.
According to Hajivand, the prices of these products vary in major producing provinces, depending on the quality and time of distribution.
Peach and nectarine, with an acceptable level of quality, are sold from 25,000 rials ($0.6) to 60,000 rials ($1.4) per kilogram.
