Markazi Unemployment Rate Lowest in Iran

With 7.3%, Markazi Province had the lowest unemployment rate in Iran during the first half of the current Iranian year (March 2017-18), an official with the central province’s Governor-General’s Office said. “This comes as the average unemployment rate in Iran stood at around 12% in H1, according to the Statistical Center of Iran,” Mahmoud Nemati was also quoted as saying by IRNA. “A total of 1.02 trillion rials ($25.5 million) were injected into 57 manufacturing units of Markazi this year, which would drive down unemployment rate in the province to 5% by the end of the year (March 20, 2018).”  Nemati added that SCI has also put this year’s economic growth and inflation rates of Markazi Province at 11% and 12%, respectively.
