S. Korea Airport Operator to Sell Navigational Systems

Korea Airports Corp., the operator of South Korean airports and supplier of airport equipment, said on Thursday it signed an agency contract with an Iranian company.

The airport operator said it signed a sales agency contract on Tuesday with Tolid Malzomat Bargh to have the company sell its navigational aid systems in Iran, KAC said in a statement, Yonhap News Agency reported.

The agreement was signed at the Inter Airport Europe Trade Fair in Germany, The Korea Herald reported.

On behalf of KAC, the Iranian company will promote sales of its instrument landing system and portable ILS/VOR Field Test Set, also known as a signal analyzer, the airport corporation said.

VOR stands for very high frequency omni-directional range system.

The FTS only weighs 3 kilograms, has enhanced portability and employs cutting-edge technologies and functions. One of the main features is the wireless mode, which uses Wi-Fi to remotely monitor signals, the statement said.

KAC operates 14 airports in South Korea and supplies navigational aid systems and airport equipment, including passenger boarding bridges and baggage handling systems, to airports worldwide, it said.

At the trade fair, KAC showcased its latest advancements in airport equipment, including passenger boarding bridges and baggage handling systems.

IAE was held at the Munich Trade Center in Germany from Tuesday to Friday.
