Shares for War Veterans

Under the first presidential term of Hassan Rouhani (August 2013-17), 3.05 trillion rials ($78.2 million) worth of shares of companies affiliated to the Ministry of Agricultural Jihad were transferred to war veterans, an official with the ministry said. “With the go-ahead of Agriculture Minister Mahmoud Hojjati, the shares of eight companies owned by Jahad Development, nine subsidiaries of Jihad Research and 12 firms owned by Jahad-e Nasr were handed over to 25,000 veterans who fought in the Iraq-Iran war for over six months,” Mohammad Ali Javadi was also quoted as saying by ILNA.
