Mahiroud Customs Bureau Becomes Operational

Mahiroud Special Economic Zone’s customs bureau, located in South Khorasan Province and along Afghanistan’s border, was launched in a ceremony attended by South Khorasan Governor General Ali Akbar Shamani and other officials.

The customs bureau will be fully equipped with the latest electronic systems provided by the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration, including the customs’ comprehensive integrated system, Mehr News Agency reported on Friday citing IRICA’s website.

In addition, all the relevant offices, storage facilities, server and monitoring rooms, department for sniffer dogs, passenger X-ray, satellite connection system and emergency electricity generator have been established.

With the launch of the new customs bureau, trucks exiting Mahiroud’s border will pass with ease.

Mahiroud is a village in Doreh Rural District in Sarbisheh County, South Khorasan Province.
