The goods and services consumer price index for rural areas in the 12-month period ending August 22, which marks the end of the Iranian month of Mordad, increased by 8.8% compared with last year’s corresponding period. The Statistical Center of Iran had reported the same 8.8% rural inflation for the preceding Iranian month, Tir.
The overall rural CPI (using Iranian year to March 2012) stood at 265.8 in Mordad, indicating a 1% increase compared with the previous month and a year-on-year increase of 8.9% compared with last year’s similar month.
Urban inflation for Mordad was earlier put at 7.7% by SCI.
