Port Throughput Rises 3.7%

More than 138 million tons of goods have been loaded and unloaded so far in the current Iranian year (started March 21), registering a 3.7% rise year-on-year. Non-oil goods accounted for 49 million tons of the total, showing a 6% rise YOY, Ports and Maritime Organization reported on Tuesday. Throughput for oil products stood at 89 million tons, growing 2.5% YOY. Container throughput amounted to 1.5 million Twenty-Foot Equivalent Units, rising 32.8% YOY.
