Local production accounted for around 84% or 1.51 million tons of the total 1.82 million tons of fertilizers purchased by Agricultural Support Services Company in the last Iranian year (March 2016-17), the managing director of the company said. The company is planning to procure over 2.3 million tons of nitrogen, phosphate and potassium fertilizers in the current year, of which 2 million tons will be purchased from domestic producers, ILNA quoted Hamid Rasouli as saying. ASSC is a public company under the supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture and is tasked with procurement, production and distribution of agricultural raw materials in Iran.
