Nobakht Reappointed Head of Planning, Budget Entity

President Hassan Rouhani reappointed Mohammad Baqer Nobakht as the head of Planning and Budget Organization of Iran on Sunday. The 67-year-old politician was a representative of Rasht in the parliament for four consecutive terms from 1988 to 2003, deputy of Economic Research Department at the Center for Strategic Research, President Rouhani’s adviser for Supervision and Strategic Affairs and the spokesman of his first Cabinet since 2013, President.ir reported. The Planning and Budget Organization of Iran was founded in 1948. In 2000, it merged with the Administrative and State Recruitment Organization to form the Management and Planning Organization of Iran. The body in charge of devising Iran’s development plans was dissolved under the presidency of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. It was revived in November 2014 under President Hassan Rouhani before it was recently split into Planning and Budget Organization and the Administrative and State Recruitment Organization.
